Ely had trouble last Saturday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. They will be playing at home against Cook County at at 7:00 PM on Friday. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Ely, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Ely have to be aching after a bruising 12-44 defeat to Mountain Iron-Buhl. This makes it the second loss in a row for Ely.
Meanwhile, Cook County put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Floodwood to the tune of 52-6.
Cook County's victory lifted them to 5-0 while Ely's loss dropped them down to 2-3. Cook County have been dynamite on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 49.6 points per game. We'll see if Ely can find some way to disarm them.
