Softball Recap: Delta Has No Trouble Against Basalt

Delta won the last time they faced Basalt and things went their way on Monday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 17-1 win. That looming 17-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

Delta got a massive performance out of Jaidyn Robinson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Hines, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Delta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Basalt only posted an OBP of .353.

Delta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Basalt, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Delta has already played their next matchup, a 15-3 win against Montezuma-Cortez on the 30th. As for Basalt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 18-2 victory against Aspen on the 2nd.
