Galeton has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Cameron County Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Galeton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last 13 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Galeton suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Oswayo Valley at home and fell 43-15. Galeton has not had much luck with Oswayo Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Galeton got a solid performance out of Addison Reigle, who scored eight points. That was a full 53.3% of Galeton's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Cameron County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 35-24 to Oswayo Valley. That's two games in a row now that Cameron County has lost by exactly 11 points.
Despite the loss, Cameron County had strong showings from Elsie Bresslin, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, and Ava Hilfiger, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Galeton bumped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Cameron County's record is now 2-8.
Galeton was dealt a bruising 46-14 defeat at the hands of Cameron County when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Galeton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
