The Quincy Trojans will take on the Chester Volcanoes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Quincy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Quincy's tournament run continued when they took on Modoc on Thursday. Quincy fell just short of Modoc by a score of 4-3.

Quincy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Moore, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Chester waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with a 16-3 win. Considering the Volcanoes have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chester got a massive performance out of Chase Chism, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Klimek, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Chester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .524 or higher in three consecutive games.

Quincy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Chester, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Quincy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .493. However, it's not like Chester struggles in that department as they've averaged .462. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Quincy couldn't quite finish off Chester in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can Quincy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
