Lincoln County has gone a perfect 3-0 against Augusta Prep Day recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Lincoln County Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Augusta Prep Day will be up against a hot Lincoln County team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Lincoln County blew past Briarwood Academy 11-4 on Friday. Considering the Red Devils have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Lincoln County got a great performance from Garrett Treadwell as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Russell Gibson was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Dawkins, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Lincoln County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Briarwood Academy only posted an OBP of .281.
Meanwhile, Augusta Prep Day made easy work of Wardlaw Academy on Thursday and carried off an 18-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.
Dakota Dunn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Dunn was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Hollimon, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Shae Joniec was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Lincoln County pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Augusta Prep Day, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Lincoln County took their victory against Augusta Prep Day in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 14-3. Does Lincoln County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Augusta Prep Day turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
