Wasco waltzed into their contest on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past Delano 14-1. Wasco might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Zakery Mays was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Wasco: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Ramon Raya was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Arturo Gonzales was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Wasco hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.

Wasco's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Delano, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, Wasco will square off against Taft at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delano, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 defeat against California City on the 5th.
