The Vallejo Redhawks lost against the Castlemont Knights back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Vallejo took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Castlemont. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vallejo in their matchups with Castlemont: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Vallejo had strong showings from Veekie Head, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds, and Jazmine Cardwell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Head scored a full 41.2% of Vallejo's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Vallejo now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Castlemont, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Vallejo will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Richmond at 7:00 p.m. Richmond's defense has only allowed 27.6 points per game this season, so Vallejo's offense will have their work cut out for Vallejo. As for Castlemont, they will face off against Kelseyville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
