Forbes Road will head out on the road to challenge Fannett Metal at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fannett Metal took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Forbes Road, who comes in off a win.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 17 to 9 on the offensive boards, a fact Forbes Road proved on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 48-23 margin over Mount Union. Forbes Road pushed the score to 45-15 by the end of the third, a deficit Mount Union cut but never quite recovered from.
Forbes Road got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Avrie Harr out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Harr is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Katie Hess, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fannett Metal's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 45-34 to Tussey Mountain.
Forbes Road has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Fannett Metal, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
Forbes Road strolled past Fannett Metal when the teams last played back in January by a score of 45-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forbes Road since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
