Rio Mesa hasn't had much luck against Oxnard recently, but that could start to change  on Thursday. The Rio Mesa Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Oxnard Yellowjackets  at 5:00  p.m.
Having struggled with four  losses in a row, Rio Mesa  turned things around against Dos Pueblos  on Tuesday. Neither they nor the Chargers could gain the upper hand  so the two teams had to settle for  a  1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Spartans have been dealt a  draw since  back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, Oxnard put another one in the bag  on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Pacifica onto the board and left with  a   4-0  victory. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by four  goals or more this season.
They hit Pacifica with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from  Erika Flores (2),  Moriah Miranda,  and  Jennifer Salas.
 Oxnard pushed their record up to 7-0 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. Rio Mesa's  draw makes their record 1-7-3  this season.
 Rio Mesa beat Oxnard 2-0  in their previous meeting  back in January of 2024. Will Rio Mesa repeat their success,  or does  Oxnard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
