Powered by seven state championships since 2007,
De La Salle (Concord) is the most dominant high school football program in California since 2004.
Based on our methodology, the Spartans amassed 1,254 points from 2004 to 2023 to edge
Centennial (Corona), which finished second with 900 points.
Centennial won a state championship in 2008 and made five additional trips to the title game.
After dominating the past decade,
St. John Bosco (Bellflower) and
Mater Dei (Santa Ana) come in at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
The methodology includes:
• Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps state computer rankings (25 points awarded to the No. 1 team, 24 for No. 2 and so on).
• Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps national computer rankings (50 points for No. 1, 49 for No. 2 and so on).
• State championships (20 points).
• State championship game appearances (10 points).
