The Waynesburg Central Raiders can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They blew past McGuffey 65-40. The victory was nothing new for Waynesburg Central as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Waynesburg Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Blair, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blair has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Davis, who scored 16 points.
Despite the loss, McGuffey still got an impressive performance from Taylor Schumacher, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Schumacher has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last four times she's played.
Waynesburg Central pushed their record up to 17-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for McGuffey, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waynesburg Central will take on the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Yough will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the Raiders are ranked 96th). As for McGuffey, they will be playing at home against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
