The Hughesville Spartans stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southern Columbia Area 75-10 at home. Winning may never get old, but Hughesville sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
It was another big night for Breanna Bobak, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and four steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ava Snyder, who scored eight points along with seven assists and two steals.
Hughesville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Southern Columbia Area, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hughesville will take on Loyalsock Township at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Loyalsock Township will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. As for Southern Columbia Area, they will head out on the road to take on Bloomsburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bloomsburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southern Columbia Area in Pennsylvania (Bloomsburg is ranked 273rd, while Southern Columbia Area is ranked 594th).
