The Tussey Mountain Titans suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Everett by a score of 42-39. Tussey Mountain was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Everett apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Tussey Mountain's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubree Weaver, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weaver has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Marlee Hall, who scored seven points.
Tussey Mountain struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Everett was led to victory by Jade Colledge and Cloe Price. Colledge scored 14 points along with five steals, while Price dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Price has scored at least a third of Everett's points.
Tussey Mountain has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Everett, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.
Tussey Mountain will head out on the road to face off against Southern Huntingdon County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southern Huntingdon County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tussey Mountain in Pennsylvania (Southern Huntingdon County is ranked 119th, while Tussey Mountain is ranked 353rd). As for Everett, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Forbes Road at 7:30 p.m.
