Jewish Community is on a four-game streak of home losses, Gateway a seven-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Jewish Community Wolves will take on the Gateway Gators at TBD on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, Jewish Community ended up a good deal behind San Francisco Waldorf and lost 53-35. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jewish Community in their matchups with San Francisco Waldorf: they've now lost seven in a row.
Gateway suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were outmatched by International at home and fell 64-8. While losing is never fun, Gateway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1065th, while International is ranked 507th).
Jewish Community's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Gateway, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Jewish Community didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Gateway in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 35-30 victory. Will Jewish Community repeat their success, or does Gateway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
