The third road game was the charm for the Selinsgrove Seals, as they earned their first road win of the season. They were the clear victor by a 46-26 margin over Halifax. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 12 more assists than your opponent, as Selinsgrove did.
Selinsgrove can attribute much of their success to Kristin Shaffer, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The game was Shaffer's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Natalie Howell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Halifax lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Ava Savage. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with eight rebounds. Savage hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Selinsgrove is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-7 record this season. As for Halifax, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Selinsgrove will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Danville at 7:30 p.m. As for Halifax, they will head out on the road to face off against Antietam at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Antietam is on a five-game streak of home losses, Halifax an 11-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
