Westview put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Benson Bunnies a 15-0 shutout. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.
Pyper Stortz made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August of 2024.
In other batting news, Londynn Danner was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadence Bosan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Westview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .826. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benson only posted an OBP of .250.
Westview is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Benson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-18.
Westview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-7 loss against Skutt Catholic on the 4th. Benson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
