The Bella Vista Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roseville. Bella Vista was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Roseville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 3rd.
When it comes to explaining why Bella Vista lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ellie Thome. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with five steals. That was a full 53.7% of Bella Vista's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Eva Jensen, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Bella Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 18 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Bella Vista has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Roseville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-17.
Bella Vista will head out on the road to face off against Antelope at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Antelope's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matches. As for Roseville, they will be playing at home against Twelve Bridges at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
