East gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 23-14 victory over the Heights Falcons. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Aces' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Falcons are ranked 87th).

Although Heights took the loss, they still got scores from Jamiere Armstrong and Chaylen Bodney.

Looking ahead, East is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heights, they will be playing at home against Topeka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
