Golden West is 2-8 against the Rangers since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Golden West Trailblazers will head out on the road to take on the Redwood Rangers at 7:30 p.m. Golden West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 844th, while the Rangers are ranked 420th).
Golden West struggled with assists on Friday (the Panthers had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Golden West took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Golden West has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Golden West had strong showings from Aniyah Venegas, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds, and Danae Banuelos, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Redwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 54-25 loss at the hands of Monache.
Golden West has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Redwood, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Golden West suffered a grim 58-34 defeat to the Rangers in their previous matchup back in January. Can Golden West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
