Cloverdale is 1-9 against St. Helena since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Saints at 4:00 p.m. Cloverdale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Cloverdale turned things around against Middletown on Tuesday. They walked away with a 15-10 win over the Mustangs. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Cloverdale let Nolan Axell and Vann Randolph run wild. Axell got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Randolph got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Axell has become a key player for Cloverdale: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Haug, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Cloverdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, St. Helena was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to Clear Lake. The Saints' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
St. Helena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Earls, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Cloverdale picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-8. As for St. Helena, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cloverdale has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Helena struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
