Redan is a perfect 6-0 against Salem since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Raiders will face off against the Seminoles at 5:30 p.m. Redan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Redan took an eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Archer, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders skirted past the Tigers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since February 28th.
Dominic Butler and Moxie McNealy were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Butler tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, McNealy didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Butler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Butler went 3-for-5 with one run and one double, while McNealy got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Treylen Roberts, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Salem's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against Drew Charter, falling 11-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Seminoles couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jordan Bowen was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run.
Redan is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Salem, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-4.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Redan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Salem struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Redan's way against Salem in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Redan made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
