Baseball Recap: Hoopa Valley Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Hoopa Valley never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past the Happy Camp Indians 15-0. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Allen Kane, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Hoopa Valley is undefeated when Kane posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Brandon Romero was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Hoopa Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Hoopa Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Happy Camp, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoopa Valley will venture away from home to face off against Ferndale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Happy Camp, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Loyalton at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
