Hill hasn't had much luck against Oak Grove recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Hill Falcons take on Oak Grove Eagles at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Hill took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Thursday. They never let Independence get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the 76ers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Victor Cantabrana was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in six of his eight plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Miguel Guerrero, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove came into Friday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against MacDonald on Friday as Oak Grove made off with a 14-0 victory. The Eagles not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10, 2024.
Jordan McCoy made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McCoy was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson McCoy, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Devin Deason was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Oak Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Hill now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Oak Grove, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Hill came up short against Oak Grove when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 4-1. Can Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
