In what's become a running theme this season, the Clairton Bears gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Steel Valley 82-32 on the road. The win was nothing new for Clairton as they're now sitting on five straight.
Iyanna Wade was her usual excellent self, scoring 65 points. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clairton's points. Another player making a difference was J Childs, who scored 11 points.
Clairton's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Steel Valley, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Clairton will take on Springdale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Springdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 580th, while Clairton is ranked 203rd). As for Steel Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Winchester Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Winchester Thurston is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
