There's no place like home for the Franklin Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They secured a 42-37 W over Oil City on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Franklin also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Leading Franklin to victory were Jennifer Blum and Katie Boal. Blum scored 12 points along with two steals, while Boal scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Boal is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Stevens, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Franklin's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Oil City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Franklin will take on Meadville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meadville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Oil City, they will be playing at home against Conneaut Area at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Conneaut Area presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Oil City in Pennsylvania (Conneaut Area is ranked 221st, while Oil City is ranked 462nd).
