Softball Recap: Franklin County Wins Going Away Against Oconee County

Franklin County barely beat Oconee County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions blew past the Warriors 13-5 on Wednesday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Franklin County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Oconee County, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Franklin County and Oconee County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Franklin County will face off against Hebron Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (238 vs. 22). Meanwhile, Oconee County (ranked 247th) will meet Cherokee Bluff (ranked 21st) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
