The Lakeview Academy Lions will take on the Dominion Christian Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeview Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Lakeview Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Cristo Rey Atlanta on Wednesday. Lakeview Academy blew past Cristo Rey Atlanta 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Collin Waldrop was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Williams, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brock Graham, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Dominion Christian and Cherokee Christian had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Dominion Christian had just enough and edged out Cherokee Christian 8-6.
Jake Jackson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Canaan Bowen was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Lakeview Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.5 runs. As for Dominion Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4.
Dominion Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lakeview Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .432. It's a different story for Dominion Christian, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Lakeview Academy's hitters?
