Borowicz, a 5-foot-10 point guard, willed his team to the victory as he scored 49 of his team's 58 points in the second half to overcome a 32-28 halftime deficit.
Connecting on 22 of 44 field goal attempts and 20 of 24 attempts from the free throw line, Borowicz also piled up 13 rebounds and four steals.
Borowicz also surpassed 3,000 career points in the contest.
For the season, Borowicz is averaging 35.7 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.5 steals per contest while shooting 45.4 percent from the field, 32.5 percent from 3-point range and 77.9 percent from the free throw line.
His 70-point outburst ties him for fourth in state history with Norm Grow of Foley in 1958 and Anders Broman of Lakeview Christian Academy (Duluth) in 2013. Cash Eggleston of Minnesota Transitions (Minneapolis) holds the state record with 90 points in a game in 2005.
Adding to the achievement for Borowicz, his points came in a competitive game unlike other recent scoring outbursts of 60 or more points across the country.
Borowicz is also a standout on the gridiron, rushing for 1,152 yards last fall for the Rams.
