The Western Christian Fighting Lancers struggled with assists on Monday (The Webb Schools Gauls had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Western Christian fell 45-38 to the Gauls. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Western Christian in their matchups with the Gauls: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Western Christian saw an underclassman step up: CeCe Balderrama dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Balderrama is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madi Bauer, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Xajani Badkar continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for The Webb Schools, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten steals. Badkar is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 20 games she's played. Pristine Thomas was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Western Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season. As for The Webb Schools, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9.
Western Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. The Webb Schools has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
