The Gilroy Mustangs will take on the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilroy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Gilroy not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st (when they won 12-4). They blew past Prospect 7-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Evan Passama was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Gilroy is undefeated when Passama posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell Friebel, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Evergreen Valley owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They came out on top against Wilcox by a score of 4-0. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Chargers on their field since May 13, 2023.
Ethan Hang made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Cacciaroni, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Evergreen Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
The win got Evergreen Valley back to even at 11-11. As for Gilroy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Gilroy skirted past Evergreen Valley 6-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
