The Analy Tigers can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They secured a 53-47 W over Rancho Cotate. That's another feather in the cap for Analy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Analy was led to victory by Destin Emmert and Shawnessy Conway-O'Neill. Emmert scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Conway-O'Neill scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Rosenberg, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nina Boblitt, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Grace Fredlund was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
Analy's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Rancho Cotate, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.
Analy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Pumas at 7:30 p.m. Maria Carrillo presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tigers in California (the Pumas are ranked 71st, while the Tigers are ranked 383rd). Rancho Cotate will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Prospectors at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Piner is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
