The King's Academy is a perfect 4-0 against Creekside Christian Academy since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The King's Academy Knights will host the Creekside Christian Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m.
The King's Academy lost 10-4 to King's Ridge Christian on Saturday. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.
Aaron Lundt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Russell Seney, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Creekside Christian Academy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.83 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over Woodland. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their one-run performance the game before.
Justus Smith and Carter Mcginnis made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Smith pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Mcginnis tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Smith scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Mcginnis scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Mcginnis a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brady Mccadden was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. Mccadden is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Lymon, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Creekside Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodland only posted an OBP of .425.
Creekside Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for The King's Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. The King's Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Creekside Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
The King's Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Creekside Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. Will The King's Academy repeat their success, or does Creekside Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
