Meanwhile, Kettle Moraine won against Kaneland on Saturday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Lasers beat Waukesha North by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-1.
Sam Scaffido made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Colton Strosin looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
Scaffido wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Micah Witt Jr., who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Callen Mirek also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Germantown's record now sits at 25-0. As for Kettle Moraine, their record is now 15-11.
Germantown skirted past Kettle Moraine 8-7 in their previous meeting back in May of 2021. Will the Warhawks repeat their success, or do the Lasers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
