In what's become a running theme this season, the Chino Cowboys gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Montclair 75-32 on the road. Chino is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 13 straight.
Chino was led to victory by Tess Oldenburg and Lyndsey Valverde. Oldenburg scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks, while Valverde scored 19 points along with seven steals and five assists. Valverde is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Becerra, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Chino is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Montclair, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-6.
Chino and Ontario will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ontario is on a nine-game streak of home wins, Chino a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Montclair, Montclair and Baldwin Park will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Baldwin Park comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
