The Marshall Eagles lost to the El Rancho Dons back in December of 2022, but the Marshall Eagles didn't allow the El Rancho Dons the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Marshall enjoyed a cozy 48-33 victory over El Rancho. The win made it back-to-back wins for Marshall.
Destiny Ihiaso continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Jolynn Alibar was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Several Dons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emery Riker, who scored 4 points along with 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Riker has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Lopez, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals.
The victory got Marshall back to even at 2-2. As for El Rancho, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Marshall will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Huntington Park at 6:30 p.m. on November 30th. Huntington Park comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for El Rancho, they will face off against Charter Oak at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
