Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 13 to 2 on the offensive boards, a fact the Miramonte Matadors proved on Tuesday. They walked away with a 39-29 win over College Park. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Miramonte also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2018.
Karena Eberts continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 21 rebounds. The match was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Julia Quinn Ferguson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
College Park's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sabrina Strode, who scored 13 points, and Taylor Ochoa who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
College Park struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The win got Miramonte back to even at 8-8. As for College Park, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-5.
Miramonte will take on Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
