Independence won the last time they faced Tulare Union and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Falcons walked away with a 6-1 win over the Tribe.

David Vincent and Jace Gillenwater did most of the damage at the plate: Vincent went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Gillenwater went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Vincent a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Guzman, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Independence hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tulare Union struck out seven times.

Independence is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tulare Union, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13-1.

Independence has already played their next game, a 21-6 win against Highland on the 21st. As for Tulare Union, they will face off against Tulare Western at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Tribe surely won't give up without a fight.
