It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sunnyslope can now relate to. They took a hard 49-35 fall against the Cienega Bobcats on Friday. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in November of 2019.
Kelton Rogers and Royce Vanacore certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Rogers gained 103 total yards and three touchdowns, while Vanacore threw for 277 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Rogers has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Cameron Holeva also helped out with an impressive 97 receiving yards.
Even if they lost, Sunnyslope's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leslie Wagner refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Julian Hainley was his usual excellent self, throwing for 424 yards and four TDs while picking up 17.0 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 50 yards and three scores for Cienega. That's the most rushing yards Hainley has posted since back in September. Jaden Rodgers also helped out as he racked up 189 receiving yards.

With the defeat, Sunnyslope broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3. As for Cienega, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4.
Sunnyslope does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cienega, they will head out to face off against Desert Edge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Scorpions have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
