How does it
work? Nominees are selected from
statistics submitted on MaxPreps. Coaches who do not have current access may
request their free account here.
Weekly finalists are released on MaxPreps every
Tuesday and voting is conducted in a special poll.
Voting ceases at noon on Mondays. The winners are announced the next day
along with the next week's nominees.
Participants may vote as many
times as they want. It's a competition.
This past week, over 110,000 votes were
cast! So far this school year 325,000 votes have been cast.

High School Athletes of the Week
* Josh Biery, LaBrae (Leavittsburg) Boys
SoccerJunior became the 17th player in state history
to score eight goals or more in a game when he had eight goals and an
assist in a 14-0 win over Garfield Heights.
* Mansour M'baye, Villa Angela-St. Joseph (Cleveland) Boys
SoccerSenior started the season with five hat tricks
or better en route to scoring an Ohio-leading 21 goals in wins over
Cornerstone Christian, Euclid, Cuyahoga Heights, Brush and Brookside.
His 45 points ranks No. 1 in the state as well.

Nominees
* Haley Yoder, Hiland (Berlin) Volleyball
Senior had 31, 21 and 14 kills and 16, 19 and 11 digs, respectively, in wins over New London, Chippewa and Ridgewood. Has 116 kills and 91 digs this season.
* Demico Harris, St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Football
Junior carried the ball 26 times for 306 yards and three TDs in a 40-20 win over Shroder Paideia Academy. Through three games he has 79 carries for 856 yards and 11 TDs.
* Dylan Smith, Norwayne (Creston) Football
Junior caught six passes for 147 yards and a TD and had three interceptions, one of which he returned for a TD, in a 38-25 win over Heath.
* Livia Penton, Vermilion Girls Soccer
Senior had four goals and back-to-back hat tricks in wins over Columbian, Port Clinton and Shelby. Has 41 points (19 goals and three assists) this season.
* Luke Brand, Milford Football
Junior quarterback completed 34-of-46 passes for 423 yards and two TDs and ran for two TDs in a 52-34 win over Loveland.
* Brayden Eldridge, Badin (Hamilton) Boys Soccer
Senior had back-to-back hat tricks (his fourth and fifth of the season) in wins over Talawanda and Roger Bacon. Also had two assists in a 3-0 win over Eaton. Has scored 18 goals and has eight assists this season.
* Rylie Simons, Austintown-Fitch (Youngstown) Volleyball
Sophomore went over 1,000 career assists with 55, 44 and 21 in wins over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, Waynedale and Harding. Has 234 assists this season and 1,094 in two years.
* Tuff McConahy, Girard Football
Senior completed 29-of-51 passes for 416 yards and six TDs in a 52-43 loss to West Branch. Has completed 62-of-102 passes for 1,016 yards and 10 TDs this season.
