While Coventry's victory against East Providence wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Oakers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Townies on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Oakers in their matchups with the Townies: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Alex Donehower, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Aiden Riley was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Coventry's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-10. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for East Providence, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Coventry has already played their next contest, a 7-2 loss against Smithfield on the 17th. As for East Providence, they will host La Salle Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Townies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
