The Rio Mesa Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 44-35 to Foothill Tech. Rio Mesa has not had much luck with Foothill Tech recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Rio Mesa saw an underclassman step up: Natalie Quinto scored 9 points along with 3 steals. Quinto scored a full 25.7% of Rio Mesa's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Hill, who scored 8 points.
Rio Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Foothill Tech, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Mesa won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Channel Islands at 7:00 p.m. on November 28th. Foothill Tech is on the road again on Monday and play against Cate at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th.
