After a string of four wins, Roosevelt's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 6-2 to the McLane Highlanders. If the Rough Riders were looking for revenge after losing 10-2 to the Highlanders when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Roosevelt saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rocko Portillo, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Portillo hit this season.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2-1. As for McLane, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will take on Firebaugh at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Firebaugh has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.57 runs per game on average), something Roosevelt will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for McLane, they will challenge Madera South at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
