Westfield has gone a perfect 10-0 against Zionsville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westfield has three straight wins, Zionsville has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Westfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Franklin Central, who was ranked 19th at the time (Westfield was ranked third). The Shamrocks took their contest last Friday with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Flashes. The Shamrocks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of Westfield's win came down to the chemistry between Aiden Grabowski and his top target Baylor Connor. Grabowski rushed for 60 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries while Connor rushed for 131 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Grabowski a new career-high.
Westfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 290 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Westfield's defense made their presence known, laying out Connor Moreland three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Alex Aramboles, Zane Newman, and Sullivan Meehan, who each picked up one sack apiece. Westfield got some further help from Issac Weingart: he made 11 total tackles (0.5 for loss) and snagged an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Zionsville after they claimed the first score last Friday, but it was Fishers who ended up claiming the real prize. The Eagles fell 28-18 to the Tigers. The Eagles were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Tigers in the fourth quarter 8-0.
Westfield will have to keep a close watch on Spencer Choi and Theo Schott, a pair of players who had a big impact on Zionsville's prior game. Choi rushed for 78 yards and one TD, while Schott picked up 68 receiving yards and one score. Choi got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 50 yards.
Westfield's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Zionsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Westfield has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 173.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Zionsville, though, as they've been averaging only 90.7 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Westfield took their win against Zionsville in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 27-3 score. Will the Shamrocks repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
