The New Iberia Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Southside Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Iberia will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, New Iberia didn't have too much trouble with Sam Houston at home as they won 46-32. Given New Iberia's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Sam Houston is ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Otis Anderson and Wayne Randall-bashay were among the main playmakers for New Iberia as the former scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and the latter scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Kentravion Smith, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Southside sidestepped Lafayette for a 49-47 win.
New Iberia is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. As for Southside, their win bumped their record up to 17-13.
