Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prep Charter). They managed a 55-51 victory over the Motivation Jaguars on Wednesday. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 58-40 win the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2019.

Motivation's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylor Matheny, who went 10 for 20 on her way to 24 points, and Joyce Cassell, who posted 19 points. That was a full 47.1% of Motivation's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Grace Thurmond also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.

The victory got Prep Charter back to even at 4-4. As for Motivation, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prep Charter will venture away from home to square off against Overbrook at 3:15 p.m. on January 24th. As for Motivation, they are taking a road trip to challenge Frankford at 3:15 p.m. on January 22nd. Frankford's defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so Motivation's offense will have their work cut out for them.
