It was a good run, but The Boone Grove Wolves unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 41-20 defeat to Hanover Central might stick with them for a while. Boone Grove has struggled against Hanover Central recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh Ogelesby, who picked up 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Boone Grove's defensive line still kept up the pressure with six sacks. Leading the way was Hunter Anthony and his two sacks.
Caiden Verrett was his usual excellent self, rushing for 304 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. Verrett hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.
Boone Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Hanover Central, their victory was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 11-0.
Boone Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hanover Central will head out on the road to face off against West Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Lafayette is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
