Leading La Jolla Country Day to victory were Safiyah Sugapong and Naomi Panganiban. Sugapong scored 16 points along with four steals, while Panganiban scored 19 points along with six steals and five assists. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Panganiban has scored at least 25% of La Jolla Country Day's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mei-ling Perry, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
La Jolla Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Hamilton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Jolla Country Day will finish 2023 at home by hosting Mountain View at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Hamilton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
