Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rancho Cotate). They breezed by the Hayward Farmers to the tune of 62-31 on Wednesday. The Cougars pushed the score to 46-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Farmers had little chance of recovering from.
Rancho Cotate's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Scardina, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds, seven steals, and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Fredlund, who made all 7 shots she took to post 14 points.
Scardina wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Rancho Cotate was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Rancho Cotate's record now sits at 6-3. As for Hayward, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
