The Jim Ned Indians will be playing at home against the Iowa Park Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jim Ned will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Even though Vernon scored an imposing 32 points on Friday, Jim Ned still came out on top. Jim Ned beat Vernon by the very same score they won with last week: 36-32.
Jim Ned relied on the efforts of Dean Guffey, who rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and Brayden Shipman, who rushed for 241 yards and two touchdowns. Shipman hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games.
Meanwhile, Iowa Park earned a 21-13 win over Clyde on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given Iowa Park's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while Clyde is ranked 242nd).
Iowa Park can attribute much of their success to Parker Allen, who rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Jim Ned to 8-2 and Iowa Park to 4-5.
Jim Ned strolled past Iowa Park in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a score of 31-13. Will Jim Ned repeat their success, or does Iowa Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
