After losing to East Central the last time they met, Deer River decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Deer River took their match against East Central on Friday by a conclusive 41-12 score. Deer River were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
The win got Deer River back to even at 1-1. The loss dropped East Central's record to 0-2.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Deer River will look to defend their home turf next week against Mesabi East at 7:00 PM. East Central will stay at home against Barnum at 7:00 PM.
